Notice of Changes to Your Prescription Drug Benefit for 2025
Effective January 1, 2025, Capital Rx will take over the administration of your group-sponsored prescription drug benefit. Under this change, Capital Rx will manage the retail pharmacy benefit, while OptumRx will continue to handle the mail-order component.
Capital Rx and Transit Employees’ Health and Welfare are working closely to minimize disruptions. However, there may be some differences, such as changes to formulary tiers. This could result in adjustments to your cost-share for certain medications.
All members under CareFirst HMO and PPO plans will receive additional information about the new prescription drug plan from Capital Rx. Please ensure you carefully review any correspondence you receive from them.
Please note, there are no changes to the prescription drug benefits for the Kaiser Permanente HMO plan. Members enrolled in this plan will continue to receive prescription drug coverage as before.
If you have additional questions, please contact our office Monday through Friday, between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM, at 301-568-2294 or email info@tehw.org.
