Starting August 1, 2024, MetLife will be the new administrator and record keeper for Transit Employees’ Health and Welfare Plan Group Term Life Insurance program. All Local 689 members should have received a letter by mail from MetLife announcing this change.

What Does This Mean for You?

Your life insurance coverage remains the same. This is purely an administrative change.

This September, MetLife will send all members information on how to review and update your beneficiary information.

During the upcoming 2025 Open Enrollment, active members will receive details from MetLife on adding additional supplemental life insurance.
