CareFirst has transitioned all non‑Medicare PPO and HMO medical benefits to the FACETS platform, effective January 1, 2026. As part of this system enhancement, updated insurance identification cards have been issued to all members.

The new cards now consolidate key benefit indicators onto a single card for improved clarity and convenience. Members will see the following designations:

• ME – Medical
• DP – Dental
• VU – Vision

Members enrolled in Carefirst should review their new card upon receipt to ensure accuracy of the listed benefits. If a card has not yet been received or if any information appears incorrect, please contact CareFirst Member Services at 877-691-5856 for assistance.
